Harold Hoskins Coleman

Harold Hoskins Coleman, 91, of Rustburg died Thursday, April 4, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Born May 14, 1927 in Lynchburg, Harold was raised by his late grandparents, Matthew N. Coleman and Ella Curry Coleman. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in Southeast Asia. Harold was a machinist at Glamorgan Pipe and Foundry until he lived his lifelong dream of being a Building Contractor. He was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church for over 60 years. Harold loved the Lord and endeavored to walk and share his faith daily with those around him. Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Nuckles Coleman; children, Marty Coleman and his wife Carolyn, Rhonda Smith and her husband Charles, Tim Coleman and his wife Christy all of Rustburg, Cindy Beam and her husband Greg of Rogers Arkansas, and Sandy Carr and her husband Kent of Rustburg; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends Monday, April 8, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with Dr. Bryan Ferrell. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Centra Hospice for their love and care during his brief illness.  Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
