Beatrice Goldie Woodson May, 86, of Lynchburg left this life, Wednesday, May 1, 2019. She was born on June 2, 1932. Bea, better known as Aunt Bea, was a beautiful soul who taught the world love and compassion. Her devotion to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was prevalent in every aspect of her life, the very air she breathed.  Where ever she went and whoever she spoke with was an opportunity to witness and teach kindness and forgiveness. Bea lived a life of love- to her family, friends, siblings, and husband. She was a guiding light through life and a reminder that any trial or trouble that may arise can be answered with the love and knowledge that “it’s in the Lords hands.” A simple visit with Bea and you would leave with a positive outlook on life and a full belly. If Bea taught us anything it’s that the two most important things in this world are the love of The Lord and family, and if anyone ever asked how you were doing a simple “I’m blessed” is always the correct answer. Beatrice is preceded in death by her husband, Jack E. May Sr., parents, Otis and Bernice Woodson; siblings, Andrew, Lucien, Matthew, Otis, and Persian Woodson. She is survived by her children, Jack E May Jr. and wife Patricia, Kenneth May and wife Carol; precious daughter, Ella B. May; George O. May and wife Victoria , David L. May and wife Karen, Mary Gentry and husband Ryan; siblings, Truett Woodson, Fulton Woodson, and Flora Jonhson; grandchildren, Dr. Jason May and wife Fran, Melissa May, Dr. Levi May, Jonathan May and wife Meg, Jacob May, Timothy Humphries Jr., and fiancé Brittany Brewer; great- grandchildren, Alex May, Laura May, Emily May, Kaylee Albert, Kendall Albert, Brooke and Brittany Linville. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be held Monday, May 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Bedford Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
