Marie M. Yudowitch, 96, of Lynchburg, Va., passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017. She was born in Hartford, Conn., the daughter of the late Howard F. Mainelli, Sr. and Anna M. Mainelli. She was a graduate of Florida State University. She was also retired from the Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C. She enjoyed the arts, theater, swimming, and hiking. She was affectionately known as “Gram” to her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her three siblings: two sisters, Gertrude Vortriede of Missouri and Frances Mantie of Ohio; and her brother Babe Mainelli of Connecticut. Marie was also preceded in death by two of her five children: a son Steve Yudowitch of Virginia and a daughter Susan Conidas of Texas. Marie is survived by her daughters, Janet Leinonen and husband, Eino, of Nobleboro, Maine, and Paula X from Waldoboro, Maine; and her son Mark Yudowitch and wife, Sandra, of Lynchburg, Va.
A family gathering and program will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502 on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 7 to 8:30 P.M.
